Joburg Super Kings (JSK) will take on Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SUNE) in the 25th match of SA20 2024 on Wednesday (January 31) at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Super Kings have won two out of eight matches and are in fourth place in the points tally. Sunrisers won four out of seven matches and are third in the rankings.
The Super Kings faced MI Cape Town in their last match and elected to bowl after winning the toss. MI scored 80 runs for the loss of three wickets in eight overs before the match got interrupted due to rain. The Super Kings got a target of 98 runs to chase in eight overs as per DLS. Leus du Plooy and Faf du Plessis helped the Super Kings reach the target of 98 runs in just 5.4 overs. Du Plessis scored 50 runs off 20 deliveries and won the Player of the Match award.
Sunrisers also faced MI in their last outing and elected to bat. They scored 175 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Tom Abell was the highest scorer for the team and made 60 runs off 44 deliveries. Nuwan Thushara and Kagiso Rabada took two wickets each. MI could make 171 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. None of the batters managed to score more than 30 runs for the team and Sunrisers won the match by four runs. Abell won the Player of the Match award.
