After losing the three-match Test series against Australia, Pakistan is all set to play a five-match T20I bilateral series against New Zealand starting from January 12. This will mark Pakistan’s first T20I series of the year and serve as preparations for the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup in June.
The Kiwis have announced their squad for the home series, with star batter Kane Williamson leading the side. Matt Henry, who was sidelined due to injury, will make his comeback against the Men in Green in the T20Is.
On the other hand, Pakistan will be led by Shaheen Afridi for the first time in T20Is. Aamer Jamal and youngster Saim Ayub have also been added to the squad. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier announced that former pacer Yasir Arafat would join the team as a ‘high-performance coach’ for this tour.
